My fascination with beauty and skin care developed watching my mom get ready for work or just to go out, it was always something i looked forward to. I loved how she carried herself,how she transformed after a little "makeover",her soft skin,her confidence,her smell. It gave me life.She noticed my interest and she'd let me play with her beauty products. And alway taught me about the importance of skin care. I started wearing makeup at the age of 12,although some might see it as "early exposure " into adulthood, my mom saw it as I did,fun and cute. And teaching me about self-care, and how it also builds and is a form of self respect. As a teen in high school I'd give my friends makeup makeovers,and when I was in varsity I used to make my own face masks at home.
My inspiration for my skin care brand comes from a few factors:
▪︎I love how healthy glowy skin gives me confidence and i want other women to experience that too.
▪︎ A lot us black girls struggle with loving our natural skin complexion. I have seen girls and grown women bleach or lighten their skin,most of them aren't fully informed about the long term effects and how they're literally destroying their skin.
▪︎ I want them to see and experience that using products that are made from natural and Organic oils or materials,products that don't change your skin tone but nourish it, can still make you look beautiful and radiant. I want them to BE PROUD of their natural skin tone. Hence the name PRIDE. To take bride in being black& beautiful. Although this was created with black girls in mind,the products are suitable for all skin types and colours.
